Capgemini is deploying AI and data infrastructure at Bentley Motors to upgrade smart manufacturing technology systems.
Bentley Motors appointed Capgemini as its digital operations lead to support the delivery of its Beyond100+ vision. Operating as the digital transformation lead, Capgemini will provide the digital infrastructure and systems integration required to drive smart manufacturing technology systems and integrate back-office processes.
Axel Dewitz, Member of the Board for Finance and IT at Bentley Motors, said: “This transition marks an important step in Bentley’s digital journey. With Capgemini, we are building a strategic relationship to support our long-term ambitions. The integration is progressing smoothly and we’re looking to the future with a shared commitment to quality and agility.”
Crewe in Cheshire houses Bentley’s Dream Factory, acting as the primary site for this integration. Bentley executes what it describes as “hyper-personalised, digital, and sustainable” luxury vehicle assembly at this location.
Upgrading the automaker’s core AI and data capabilities aims to reduce complexity that often holds back manufacturing environments. Consolidating information access speeds up management decisions and increases the overall business efficiency.
Capgemini supplies the backbone and digital intelligence required to support the delivery of Bentley’s long-term operations. The integration applies advanced analytics and AI to generate detailed customer and commercial insights. Bentley will use these capabilities to refine sales, marketing, and campaign activities through improved analytics.
The deployment replaces traditional break-fix models with modern IT service operations engineered to deliver reliable, efficient, and user-centric services. Modernising these operations focuses directly on improving the overall employee experience across the business. Capgemini focuses on long-term operations, spanning from manufacturing systems modernisation to enterprise-wide digital optimisation.
Rob Pears, UK Head of Manufacturing, Automotive, and Life Sciences at Capgemini, said: “Bentley Motors represents the pinnacle of British quality and manufacturing prowess, and we’re delighted to be supporting them to transform its digital operations.
“The brand’s legacy and ambitious vision offer exciting opportunities to drive innovation through data and AI, enabled by Capgemini’s deep expertise in integrating and modernising complex enterprise and manufacturing systems at scale.”
Establishing solid data foundations and a defined digital footprint provides the data intelligence and architecture required to fuel faster decision-making. Bentley will use these data foundations to support the development of next-generation products. Integrating these data structures allows the business to maintain agility within a changing market.
The deployment ensures capital expenditure aligns with long-term goals through cost optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives. Modernising manufacturing systems establishes direct pathways for enterprise-wide digital optimisation, allowing the luxury automotive brand to advance its digital operations at scale.
