Charitable Initiatives

Our Charities

For 2025, we have chosen to continue to partner with St Michael’s Hospice, Bowel Cancer UK as well as maintaining our commitment to supporting of Maple Ridge Primary School and The Camrose Centre.

Each year Edison Smart supports a charity that is important to all employees. This year, Edison has decided to partner with Bowel Cancer UK, St Michael’s Hospice, and will be continuing to support a local primary school and homeless center for people who are vulnerably housed. It is of paramount importance for us to have a sense of community and to help others whenever possible.

Bowel Cancer UK

Bowel cancer in the UK, also known as colorectal cancer, is cancer that starts in the large bowel (colon and rectum) and is the fourth most common cancer in the country. Early diagnosis and screening can significantly improve outcomes.

The Camrose Centre Basingstoke

The Camrose Centre is a drop-in centre for anyone who is sleeping rough, homeless, or vulnerably housed within Basingstoke and Deane.

We are a place where people struggling with accommodation can find a listening ear and companionship; as well as access to a hot shower, clean clothes, shoes, and food packs.

They also distribute tents, sleeping bags, and rucksacks to homeless people in Basingstoke when they are available and can help with access to physical and mental health services with a local GP visits once a month.

Project Maple Ridge

Our staff are our family. If Edison Smart can aid them in any challenging situations, professionally or personally, then we want to help. Local to our headquarters in Basingstoke is a fantastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) School for 4-11yr olds – Maple Ridge.

Our Internal TA Manager has a daughter at the school. Edison Smart offered up a ‘wellness day’ where all staff members visited Maple Ridge to paint two classrooms and overhaul their sensory garden. It was an emotional day and gave the team a real insight into the funding challenges of SEN schools and the additional support the children need.

Following this, Edison formally partnered with Maple Ridge to continuously support the school with more maintenance tasks, laptop donations and financial aid.
