The list of companies acquired by European industrial software company Forterro has increased in length, with the latest business to join the fold being Inology, based in Barcelona, Spain.
Inology provides ERP software, specialising in expense management and time and attendance functions. The acquisition means Forterro expands its market further into southern Europe: Inology’s Tickelia has more than a quarter of a million Spanish and Portuguese users among small-to-medium businesses. The company’s Marino ERP is perhaps best known among discrete and process manufacturers in the region.
Forterro expects to expand its customer base by around 1,500 additional SME and upper mid-market customers.
Since Battery Ventures divested itself of Forterro for $1 billion to Partners Group, the company has been on something of a buying spree. It’s acquired companies and products that include Jeeves, Myfactory, Proffix, Sylob and Infocube. Inology is Forterro’s fifth acquisition of 2025, the most recent being Danish business intelligence firm TARGIT.
Speaking to the Enterprise Times in 2022, CEO Dean Forbes said the acquisition of Jeeves marked the start of its current playbook of expansion through merger and acquisition. Its next nine purchases were of a “similar profile of business, similar playbook for value creation, similar approach to sales and marketing […] That’s when the company expanded across Europe.”
Among its acquisitions are BM Group, a uPVC window software specialist, which was bought by Forterro this year. In November 2024 it announced the acquisition of another fenestration specialist, German Orgadata AG, which added the Logikal design and production software and web-based management suite Touch to Forterro’s portfolio.
At the beginning of its growth and expansion cycle, Orderwise added its own ERP software assets to Forterro, in addition to WMS (warehouse management system) and stock control software, aimed at both retailers and wholesalers.
Forterro is now recognised as playing strongly in the mid-market, where it’s establishing a strong European base. Speaking on the latest acquisition of Inology, Forbes said, “This […] aligns perfectly with our mid-market focus, accelerating our cloud strategy, extending our reach in southern Europe, and enabling us to offer customers even more of the tools they need to compete and thrive in their local markets.”
The company’s cloud strategy centres around MyForterro, a web-based application that forms the hub of licence management for the different platforms on offer, and authorises users via Microsoft Entra.
Forterro currently employs around 1,800 people in 40 offices largely sited in Europe, but also has presence in the UAE, Morocco, China, and the US.
