Position: Building Automation Software Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 per year
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage control program functionalities, including Trend Logs, Zones, Alarms, Reports, Backups, Graphics, and minor modifications to DDC code
- Conduct thorough checkout and start-up processes for Direct Digital Control (DDC) components and Building Control Systems
- Commission Building Control Systems and ensure all drawings are accurately recorded and updated
- Implement field changes as directed and troubleshoot any component or equipment issues that arise
- Provide training sessions for both owners and peers to enhance system understanding and usage
- Collaborate with the Project Engineer on field tasks and coordination efforts
- Participate in panel construction and maintain field documentation, including As-Built drawings, check-out sheets, and UL Panel Tags
- Effectively manage your time to ensure all assignments are completed on schedule and within budget
- Work towards optimizing building performance and energy efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovative automation projects
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Building Automation
- Strong understanding of BAS programming and control systems
- Familiarity with Delta Controls or Alerton systems is essential
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation
- Associate’s degree in Applied Technology or a comparable mix of education and hands-on experience
- Proven track record in computer programming, particularly in BAS-related applications
- Solid background working with building mechanical systems
- Practical knowledge of electronics and fundamental electrical circuits
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems effectively
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
- Tridium Niagara certification is a significant advantage
- Proficient in computer hardware and software relevant to BAS applications
- Solid understanding of DDC Control Theory and its practical applications
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and training
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly
