Edison Smart are actively looking for a talented and motivated Building Automation Systems Programmer to join our client’s team in Jacksonville, FL.
As a Building Automation Systems Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and commissioning control system software for HVAC, lighting, and other building systems. You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to bring high-performance automation systems to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, test, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) including DDC controllers and graphical user interfaces.
- Develop sequence of operations based on project specifications and mechanical drawings.
- Configure and integrate control networks (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
- Create user-friendly front-end graphics and dashboards for facility operators.
- Perform on-site commissioning, system validation, and customer training.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Provide remote and on-site support for system upgrades, diagnostics, and optimization.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in BAS programming and system integration.
- Proficiency with major control platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, control theory, and networking protocols.
- Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and sequences of operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
- Tridium Niagara certification is a plus.
