Edison Smart are actively looking for a Building Automation Technical Support Specialist to join a growing business in Minneapolis, MN.
As a Building Automation Technical Support Specialist, you will provide hands-on and remote support for our automation systems across a wide range of commercial facilities. You’ll troubleshoot issues, guide technicians, support commissioning and upgrades, and serve as a critical technical resource for both internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for BAS installations, service calls, and system upgrades.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and controls integration issues (including BACnet, Modbus, etc.).
- Assist field technicians and customers with programming, configuration, and system diagnostics.
- Support commissioning and functional testing for new projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and project managers to resolve design or integration issues.
- Maintain documentation and logs of service activity and system configurations.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving BAS platforms, tools, and protocols.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or low-voltage systems support.
- Working knowledge of DDC systems and common BAS platforms (Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Distech, etc.).
- Familiarity with network protocols, IP addressing, and integration standards (BACnet/IP, MS/TP, Modbus, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and occasionally travel to local customer sites.
