Business Development Manager 
 
We have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager in the London area, where you will be responsible for selling the full suite of offerings into the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a background in selling a broad range of solutions including Building Automation, Operations Optimization Software Solutions, Instrumentation and ongoing Service and Support. You will achieve sales targets from existing or new accounts/customers aligned with business initiatives.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop and demonstrate a strong understanding of the customer’s business needs and identify and offer solutions through product portfolio. 
  • By focusing within a target sector you will develop exisiting relationships and maximise opportunity, as well as drving and hunting for new business.
  • This position includes working against sales targets, so you will require the determination and spirit to perform against target.
  • Understand the cross sell the full solution portfolio. This includes but is not limited to BAS Controls, Fire and Security, SaaS solution, Access Controls.

Required skills and experience 

  • At least 5 years sales experience within the Smart Buildings/Building technologies industry, experience must include new business hunting.
  • Extensive background within Sales selling Automation Technology and/or Software solutions into Construction Industry.
  • Specified knowledge, experience and contacts within a target vertical (ideally Healthcare or Defence sector)
  • Building Automation sales experience, furthermore, cross selling solution offerings
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed quota in a complex sales environment.
  • Experience dealing with enterprise level customers and interacting with various differnet stakeholders
  • Candidate has a very good comprehension of the industry value chain and understands the client needs well. This results into the ability to clearly present our value proposition and our specific solution portfolio.
  • Proven effectiveness in a highly matrixed environment with excellent organizational, communication, negotiations, and interactive skills.

Position details

  • Business Development Manager title
  • Home-office based + customer travel (London area)
  • Ability to commute to London regularly to meet with customers
  • Potential for applicants outside of London if suitable
  • £65k-£75k base salary + 40% commision strucure + benefits
  • 2/3 stage interview process
