Commissioning Manager – Data Centres – Ability to move into a Country Manager role within 12 months

Role Summary
Seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead MEP commissioning for Data Centre projects in Japan. You will oversee site activities, ensure quality and safety compliance, and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients to deliver projects on time and to specification. This opportunity also has the ability to move quickly into a Country Manager position within 12 months based on the projected growth of the company and it’s projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all mechanical and electrical commissioning activities on-site
- Develop and implement commissioning plans with stakeholders
- Execute and oversee QA/QC, start-up, and testing procedures
- Provide technical input on drawings, manuals, and submittals
- Produce technical reports and lead issue resolution
- Coordinate safety documentation and risk assessments
- Support tender documentation and manage project scope changes
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in Data Centre or mission-critical commissioning
- Strong MEP systems knowledge
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Leadership experience in cross-functional technical environments
- Understanding of LEED or Green Star standards is a plus
