Embedded Zephyr Engineer – RTOS
Contract – 6-12 Months
Location – Pacy-Sur-Eure – Hybrid
Edison Smart are looking for a skilled Embedded Engineer to help define, evolve, and support an embedded development platform based on Zephyr RTOS. You will play a pivotal role in creating the documentation, methodologies, and technical foundations needed to support both a pilot project and the broader platform lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for embedded development on the Zephyr platform
- Define and maintain platform architecture, methodologies, and best practices
- Write and maintain clear, user- and developer-facing documentation
- Ensure ongoing maintenance, improvement, and scalability of the platform
- Drive code quality through unit and white-box testing, and validation of pull requests
- Support product teams by advocating for platform use and assisting in integration
- Contribute to platform governance and decision-making
- Assist the delivery owner with coordination and planning activities
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in embedded software development for MCU-based systems
- Deep understanding of RTOS concepts: task scheduling, synchronization, and real-time behavior
- Proficient in C; working knowledge of Python
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and test integration
- Fluency in Git, code versioning, and collaborative development workflows
- Solid knowledge of Linux fundamentals (POSIX, device tree, licensing)
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and spoken (B2/C1 level)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS
- Familiarity with open-source license models
- Prior contributions to open-source projects or communities
