Edison Smart are parntered with a growing Building Automation and HVAC business located in NYC who are actively looking to hire a Field Service Technician.
As the Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC systesm to optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The technician will perform system diagnostics, software updates, and regular preventive maintenance to ensure seamless operation.
This role involves working with HVAC, lighting, and other automated systems in commercial buildings across Manhatten.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain BAS and HVAC equipment such as controllers, sensors, and network devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot BAS and HVAC system malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
- Conduct system upgrades and software patches to ensure up-to-date performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure the proper integration of systems.
- Provide system training to building operators and occupants.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status
Qualifications:
- Experience in building automation, HVAC systems, or related fields.
- Familiarity with BAS platforms like Johnson Controls, Distech, Honeywell, or Siemens.
- Strong troubleshooting, electrical, and networking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- OSHA certification or equivalent is a plus
- US Passport holder
The ideal candidate would be located in NYC and be in a position to start a new position immediately or within 2 weeks. The ideal candidate would also have exisitng knowledge of Building Automation / Niagara.
