Edison Smart are partnered with a growing engineering business who are actively looking to hire a Fire Design Engineer to join their growing team, with a specific focus on education, data center, commercial, residential and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop fire protection system designs (sprinkler, detection, suppression) using Revit.
- Produce coordinated fire strategy layouts, drawings, and models in line with building regulations and project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of fire safety solutions.
- Conduct design calculations and support the preparation of technical reports and specifications.
- Assist in reviewing and ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and standards (e.g., BS, EN, NFPA).
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in fire protection design.
- Proficiency in Revit is essential – must be able to produce high-quality BIM models and drawings independently.
- Familiarity with UK fire safety legislation and building regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., IFE, CIBSE).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM-related tools.
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
