Contract Mechanical Commissioning Manager – Data Centre – Paris, France – July starter – 12 months contract + extensions – Up to €580 per day (Accommodation, Travel & per diem offered)
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Commissioning Manager to lead the mechanical commissioning activities on a mission-critical data centre project. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the mechanical systems are tested, commissioned, and delivered to the highest standards, aligned with project timelines and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the mechanical commissioning process across HVAC, chilled water, CRAC units, fire suppression, and associated systems.
- Liaise with construction, design, and commissioning teams to develop and implement the commissioning strategy and schedule.
- Manage commissioning documentation, including test plans, reports, and system acceptance documentation.
- Interface with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth handover of systems.
- Conduct and witness system testing and commissioning activities, including FATs, SATs, and ISTs.
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve mechanical commissioning issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Support the integration of mechanical systems into the wider MEP and controls systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical systems, and control logic.
- Solid technical knowledge of commissioning processes, documentation, and QA/QC procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or leading specialist commissioning companies preferred.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or building services qualification (degree/HND/HNC or equivalent).
- CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent safety certifications.
Desirable:
- Experience working across European data centre projects.
- Familiarity with BSRIA and ASHRAE commissioning standards.
- Knowledge of commissioning management tools and platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, Autodesk BIM 360, etc.)
