Sales Manager – Japan
Role Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to strengthen their footprint in Japan’s fast-growing data center and critical infrastructure market. This role will focus on driving direct sales growth, developing new opportunities with key accounts, and delivering tailored solutions for mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement improvements to sales strategies, processes, and forecasting to maximise efficiency and results.
- Develop and execute plans to expand the customer base within the data center and critical infrastructure sectors.
- Manage relationships with major accounts, overseeing negotiations, pricing, and commercial terms.
- Identify and secure new projects, from initial contact through to closing agreements.
- Take full ownership of direct sales activities to achieve ambitious growth targets.
- Support the design and rollout of marketing and demand generation initiatives to reach new clients in the data center and infrastructure space.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in direct sales, business development, or account management within the data center, critical infrastructure, or related construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of the unique requirements of mission-critical environments.
- Proven success in securing new business and managing complex customer relationships.
- Solid experience with pricing strategies, cost structures, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, able to translate technical solutions into clear business value for customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical, or related technical discipline (Master’s or MBA a plus).
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional, matrix environment, collaborating with technical, operational, and commercial teams.
Travel:
Approximately 20% regional travel required.
