Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Advanced Wireless Systems
Salary: $150k – $240k (Depending on experience)
Location: Los Angeles (Hybrid – 4 days on-site)
 
An established and rapidly growing technology company is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their R&D team focused on developing cutting-edge wireless communication systems. These systems are used in a variety of mission-critical applications across defense, public safety, and commercial industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop embedded software for advanced wireless communication systems
• Implement networking protocols, including MAC layer and routing functions
• Develop and maintain Linux-based drivers and board support packages (ARM, RISC-V)
• Create tools for system testing, performance validation, and diagnostics
• Integrate encryption and security protocols in line with regulatory standards
• Customize Linux environments and scripting for embedded platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in software, hardware, and RF engineering

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems
• 5+ years’ experience in embedded Linux development
• Strong understanding of kernel-level driver development and system programming
• Familiarity with IP networking protocols and socket programming
• Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols, authentication, and encryption methods
• Experience with Linux kernel interrupts and real-time programming
• Exposure to modern SoC platforms (e.g., ARM Cortex-A, RISC-V, MPSoC architectures)
• Experience with secure systems (e.g., FIPS 140-3, NIAP Common Criteria) is a plus
