Edison Smart are actively looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join a growing national data center business in the US. You’ll play a key role in delivering resilient and energy-efficient solutions for data center projects across the US

Responsibilites include:

• Lead or support the mechanical commissioning process from early planning through system handover.
• Review mechanical design drawings, submittals, and specifications for completeness and compliance.
• Develop and execute commissioning test procedures (CTPs) for mechanical systems, including:
  • HVAC, Chillers and cooling towers
  • Pumps, piping systems, and valves
  • Control systems (BMS integration)
• Coordinate with construction teams, design engineers, OEMs, and vendors to verify system functionality.
• Document and track commissioning progress using commissioning software/tools.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field; escalate as necessary.
• Ensure all testing and documentation meet industry standards (ASHRAE, NEBB, SMACNA, etc.).
• Assist in integrated systems testing (IST) and final acceptance procedures.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports and system turnover packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license (Professional Engineer) preferred or in progress.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3 years in mission-critical/data center environments.
• Deep knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH systems, economizers, and CFD analysis.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical simulation tools.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

This position requires a high amount of travel – circa 75%. Individuals who apply should be comfortable with national travel up to 75%
