Senior Mechanical Engineer – Medical Robotics
Salary: $150k – $175k
Location: White Plains, NY
An innovative medical robotics company are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D team developing leading robotics & automation solutions for the medical diagnostics/bio tech space.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team working alongside experts in software, electrical, and optical systems. This role involves designing and developing advanced control systems & mechanical components for a complex, multi-component robotic system used in medical diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of precision motion systems and electromechanical assemblies (SolidWorks preferred)
- Development of test fixtures and prototype systems
- Modeling and simulation (thermal, structural, kinematic, dynamic)
- Technical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO)
- Cross-functional collaboration with electrical and software teams
- Vendor selection and management for prototyping and manufacturing
- Support of production processes, testing, and quality initiatives
- Mentorship of junior engineers
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Aerospace Engineering or another relevant discipline
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Design of large assembly modeling, and motion systems
- Experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting and system integration
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems and design for automation
- Good project management & organizational skills
- Familiarity with scripting/software tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is beneficial
