Back in January this year, I had the absolute pleasure of choosing a charity to be supported by Edison Search. I immediately knew I was choosing Shooting Star Chase.
They are an amazing charity that care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months, or years, they are there to make every moment count.
Their specially trained nurses and carers support children with complex medical needs whilst their Family Support Team provide holistic care for the whole family. They go above and beyond to give children the happiest smiles that any parent could ever ask for. Whether making memories in their art room, sensory room or making music in the music room! Words genuinely can’t explain the joy of seeing these superstars enjoy some well-deserved fun with the everyday troubles they experience.
Their care goes beyond the children too. They are incredibly supportive of the families, allowing them to take much-needed time for themselves whilst the amazing staff take care of the children.
So, why did I choose to support this charity specifically?
Shooting Star Chase is very close to my heart for a number of reasons!
I was lucky enough to have been supported by them after being diagnosed with an extremely rare heart condition when I was born. There was always a question of whether I would live to see the next day.
I met some incredible people growing up who were involved in the charity. Not to mention Gary Barlow being one of them! 😉
I can’t thank Shooting Star Chase enough for the care and support they provided me and my family. They have given me a quality of life that I’ll be forever thankful for.
