Integration Project Manager – Data Centre Projects (Tokyo or Osaka)
Location: Tokyo or Osaka, Japan (Secondment role)
An international project management consultancy is seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to support mission-critical infrastructure projects in Japan. This position is focused on the coordination and delivery of integrated systems in data center environments. You’ll work alongside highly experienced teams in a dynamic, multicultural setting, gaining hands-on exposure to complex technical infrastructure projects while managing your own deliverables and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate full project lifecycle activities from planning through closeout, including compiling and finalizing technical and schedule-related deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to conduct feasibility and constructability reviews for infrastructure design and fit-out.
- Oversee site-based activities including installation of services (LAN, fiber, telecoms, and low-voltage systems), commissioning, and handover.
- Perform regular site visits across various locations as required by project scope.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings (CAD) and alignment with scope and timeline expectations.
- Use project management tools to track progress, manage interdependencies, and communicate updates across global and local teams.
- Lead integration of technical systems such as communications, security, and building automation, with responsibility for quality, budget, and timeline performance.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within construction or systems integration, ideally in data center environments.
- Background in telecoms, security, networking, or technology systems is highly valued.
- Experience working with consultancy firms or Tier 1 general contractors preferred.
- Native Japanese speaker or JLPT N2, plus fluent in English for meetings, emails, and documentation.
- Able to interpret technical drawings (CAD) and documentation.
- Familiar with project management tools and comfortable coordinating across multiple disciplines.
- Flexible to travel to site locations based on project requirements.
